SLEEP APNEA
What exactly is Sleep Apnea?
First, sleep apnea is bad, very bad. Sleep apnea literally means to stop breathing while sleeping. There are two different types of sleep apnea. There is Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) where your throat muscles relax while sleeping, which then constricts the amount of airflow you receive at night. And, there is Central Sleep Apnea (CSA), which is where the brain does not send the proper signals to the muscles responsible for breathing.

So, the short of it is that Sleep Apnea restricts your breathing, and thus your oxygen uptake while sleeping. And since it occurs while sleeping, sleep apnea is essentially suffocating you while you are barely aware of it happening.
